Mr. and Mrs. Karl Knapp entertained at a Christmas dinner for the Teater family on December 25th. A turkey dinner was served at the noon hour, with all the delicious trimmings. A gift exchange was enjoyed by all. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Teater, (my great grandparents), Mr. and Mrs. Verl Teater, Diana and Patricia of Springdale Ark, Mary Hiatt, Mr. and Mrs Ray Teater, Ayron, Shawna, and Shayla, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Luscan, Denise, Howard and Blake, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Knapp(mom’s brother)and KaBrina, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hiatt and Marti and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dulaney, Reisha and Yulanda, and Violet Lindley. All enjoyed the day very much. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Teater left for their home in Arkansas on Sunday.
That is almost exactly the same as 1972, predictable, traditional, that was pretty much our Christmas Day through the seventies. I think 1980 was the last Christmas dinner at Gram’s.
In the eighties we had Christmas dinner at the ISU cabin. My great uncle JB worked for ISU , so that’s why we got to use the cabin. It had a big kitchen with full sized appliances, from the kitchen you went into one large great room,it sets back off the road, you had to drive a short lane to get to it, there was a massive fireplace, perfect for Christmas, and so spacious compared to any of Gram’s houses, we had Christmas out there until 1995. Update, I found some pictures of the cabin.
